For more than 40 years, the Jamestown Community Center has been providing learning opportunities and safe space for low-income youth in San Francisco’s Mission District. Its mission is to mobilize the resources of families, neighborhood residents, and other community members to help young people realize their full potential as empowered and productive members of society. Today, Jamestown serves more than 700 youth and families through a full range of early education, educational enrichment, academic support, leadership, employment, sports, and counseling and prevention programs.
Computers for a Cause’s generous donation will increase Jamestown’s productivity and capacity by providing staff with access to additional computer terminals. This will undoubtedly increase Jamestown’s efficiency and efficacy in serving its hundreds of youth and families.
