Tech Leaders Helping with Tech:
Help Us Provide 5,000 Laptops to Donate to Families Impacted by California Wildfires
Your donations—money or unused devices—will help families impacted by wildfires rebuild and stay connected.
The California fires have displaced families, destroyed personal belongings, and made it very challenging for many to file claims, apply for jobs, or resume online schooling. We want you to help us distribute 5,000 laptops/tablets at no cost to people in impacted areas like Pasadena/Altadena, the Pacific Palisades, and surrounding locations.

Three ways to help California wildfire survivors
Donate Funds to Purchase & Refurbish Tech
Your financial contributions are used for:
- Purchasing new/refurbished devices
- Covering shipping and distribution costs to affected families
Does Your Org Have New, Refurbished, or Older Laptops (3-5 years) That are in Good Working Order to Give?
We accept all kinds of laptops and tablets that are in good working order:
- Corporations with surplus inventory or laptops that may be “decommissioned” for your business, but useful for others
- Organizations with unopened/”like-new” tech that were returned as part of a warrantee repair, but in good working order
Donate Your Used Personal Tech
We welcome:
- Gently used laptops
- Tablets with no cracked screens
Data Security & Practices
Whether you’re an IT leader or individual donating your personal device, please follow industry practices for secure wiping and disposal.
Send us your laptops that have been securely wiped following your organization’s policies for secure data deletion. We will reimage the drive and install a new operating system.
Our laptop refurbishing process starts with sanitizing all devices with data storage at our NAID-certified facilities. We employ software that wipes data that meets data destruction standards in NIST SP 800-88, Guidelines for Media Sanitization.
