The City of Commerce has been a longtime partner of human-I-T’s. Since we opened our first warehouse there in 2012, the city has been nothing but supportive and embraced our mission wholeheartedly. So we thought that a great way to say “thank you” and give back to this beautiful city would be to help set up a computer lab!
We have been working with the City of Commerce to offer digital literacy classes to the community. As part of that effort, we were able to supply 22 computers donated to us from individuals and businesses. While our classes can be done online, this computer lab will serve as a location for those that may need a little extra help to come and receive hands-on guidance.
We love opportunities like these because this is what human-I-T was built to do: give back. One of our goals is to have human-I-T be a leader in the social entrepreneurship space. To inspire other people to see that they can create businesses around doing good and contributing to the communities and the world that they live in. Commerce gave us an opportunity to help accomplish that goal, and we are going to be providing opportunities for Commerce residents to learn 21st-century skills.
So if you or anybody you know could use some help learning how to navigate a computer, signup here or head own to the Commerce City Hall Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
